I've only had a boyfriend once, I mean other than that kid I "dated" when I was 6. Matt A. and I dated for a month when I was 16. I broke up with him on my birthday, about three weeks before Valentines day. I've known him my whole life, and he is just way to much like my brother for us to have continued dating. However, since I broke up with him when I did, I still have yet to have a Valentine....except for my Dad who, without fail, buys me chocolate and a stuffed animal every year.
The same was true for Sam as well, until this year. A few months ago, Sam was going on and on about how boys never really like her and if they do they are total douches...now she is what Paige (another college friend) and I call a pickle juggler. She has at least 4 or 5 guys interested in her, and 3 of them she likes as well. One of these guys is Matt T. (notice it is a different Matt than the one I dated), a guy I have known most of my life. So when Matt T. asked if I would help him surprise her I, of course, agreed like any good room mate would. I tricked her, I told her there was a lunar eclipse and we had to go watch, (fool believed me!) and got her to go out to the back gate. Matt was waiting like a creeper in the shadows and pulled out a card and a teddy bear, the card even had the check yes or no boxes. She of course said yes and they blushed and hugged while I took pictures like a good friend.
So now Sam has a Valentine. Jessica, our other roommate, is dating this guy named Jamie. Which leaves me as the lone roomie with out a date for Valentines day...jokes on them I get to hang out with Ryan Reynolds, Channing Tatum, and Ryan Gosling all day while they hung out with Matt T. and Jamie, haha ya I win ;)
Random thoughts that I have mixed with goofy stories about my life. This is a pretty Random Blog that I made just to entertain and express myself and hopefully anyone who happens to read it will get a little glimpse of me.

Fish and Snow don't mix in Texas
Last night the crazy Texas weather decided it was time for some snow...I hate snow. It's cold and wet and causes wrecks. Well, Sam and I needed to go to Walmart; we needed a few things and she wanted to buy some new fish to replace Raider, Ivy, and Blimey (may they rest in peace). But when we got to the pet section and started looking at the fish, there wasn't an employee there to help, so what did we do, we decided to do it ourselves. We went over to the sink to fill the bag with water and Sam starts freaking out, "Oh my gosh there's a fish! There's a fish!"
"What are you talking about, Sam?!"
"Merry, do you not see that fish?! It's in the sink...is it dead? Oh my gosh it's alive!"
"Well don't just stand there weirdo! Put it back! Oh my Gosh it's gonna die! Sam what kind is it?"
" I don't know...It's funny looking I don't see the right tank!!!"
" I found it! Right here Sam, these are spotted like that too."
Sam eventually got the little fishy back in his tank and he was fine, but the whole ordeal was quite hysterical in my mind.
A few minutes later Sam and I have picked out the fish we want and I am attempting to retrieve the cute little guy with spots that we've picked when an employee finally shows up. He helps us get the three fish that we really like and we leave. On our way out of the store we come up with the following names: Vangouldfish, Vangough for short, for the bigger fish with lots of spots; Houston, after Whitney Houston (Sam had to many real friends named Whitney to use that), for the Goldfish with black on her tail; and Jane for the cute little plain goldfish.
Once outside we were devastated to find that it was still snowing, like I said before I hate snow, and Sam harbors these same feelings for the horrid stuff. So on the way to the car Sam clings to the fish bag, holding it to her body to keep them from getting too cold. I had the great responsibility of holding them in the car and keeping them from shaking to much.
I'm glad to report that I am watching the three of them swim around happily as I type. :)

Getting to Know Me
Ok, so whenever I do blog, I will probably talk a lot about my friends and school, for the sake of their privacy I won't include last names, but I will tell you their first names. Hannah is my best friend, she's two years younger than me, so a senior in high school, and has stuck by me through my darkest days. Sam and Jessica are my roommates at school; they are both super awesome and the most fun people to live with. Kayla is my cousin, she's only one year younger than me, freshman, and attends another University in the same town as mine, she is playing volleyball there and decided to pledge this semester. I pledged a club last semester, Alpha Kai, I know I will sound like a silly sorority girl, but my sisters really are amazing, and I love them all so much! Alaina is a girl I pledged with that I have gotten really close to, we plan to live together next year.
Now for my family, I will usually refer to my parents as Mom and Dad, maybe Daddy, but either way you don't really need to know their names. I have one older brother his name is Matt...oh dear I know a lot of people named Matt. Ok so my brother will always be either "Matt" or "my brother" any other Matt will include a last initial I guess...oh this is going to get confusing, haha. My mom's mom is the only grandparent that I am particularly close to; don't get me wrong I know and love all of my grandparents, but our bond is just special. Her name is Dody and she truly is my hero, I've never met anyone quite as amazing as she is.
All right, time to play catch up on the stupid stuff: I'm a biology major, pre-med. I get some pretty funny reactions to that when I meet new people, stuff like "oh my gosh, no" or "God bless you" or "oh so you're smart." Those are the most common I think. I'm slightly (ok majorly) addicted to movies and chocolate...kinda explains why I don't have abs, lol, not that I'm fat, but I'm not in the best of shape.
My room mate Sam just got home...her fish died last night...it was actually a pretty funny story, I'll tell you some time. Oh and now she is flushing them down the toilet and saying some last words, "Bye Raider...bye little buddy...come on Blimey! Even in death you're annoying, here lies Blimey, she was an Albino which made her special." Oh Sam you always make me laugh :)
I guess that's all for now I really should be working on that paper....if only I knew what to write!

Honesty
Growing up my parents engrained in me the age old notion that Honesty is always the best policy. Although it took my mom washing my mouth out with soap a few times when I was young, I eventually learned the lesson. So to be honest, I'm starting this blog as another way to procrastinate writing my paper that is due Wednesday. It's weird right? Writing to put off writing. But writing whatever happens to pop into my head is much more entertaining than writing about Priscilla from Hebrews. 8 pages all about Priscilla, I have no idea what to write, so I just decided it could wait.
I want to be myself on this blog, I don't want to worry about what my professor, mom, or friend might think if they see what I write, so I'm not going to tell you my full name, you can just think of me as Merry...although, since I'm being honest, if my mom just happened to read this, she would probably know it was me just from that, but whatever, no one else will. I don't want to worry about some creeper finding me either, so just know I'm a college student in Texas...a Christian College...I think that's all you really need to know. I can't honestly tell you that I will blog every day, or even blog all that often (I've never really seen the attraction for readers, so I don't know that I'll enjoy writing to nobody) but I will try to blog when I can, or when I can't but feel like it anyway :)
